This website and its contents (“website”) are owned and operated by Museum of Brisbane Pty Ltd (“Museum of Brisbane”) of City Hall, Brisbane in the State of Queensland 4000 (“we” or “our”).

The use of this website is governed by the following terms and conditions, as amended from time to time. Each time you use this website, you acknowledge to us that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions of Use and agree to be bound by them.

General

The laws of Queensland, Australia govern these Terms and Conditions of Use.

Events and Tours

Tickets are sold by Eventbrite as agent for and on behalf of Museum of Brisbane and subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Ticket holders are subject to the conditions applicable to that event/or the venue where held, as indicated on the front of the ticket.
  • All sales are final. Purchased tickets may only be exchanged or refunded in accordance with the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice. A fee may be applicable on eligible exchanges and refunds.
  • Unauthorised use of camera or recording equipment is strictly forbidden.
  • The venue and/or presenter reserve the right to refuse admission. This includes and is not limited to removal or refusal of admission for the safety and comfort of others, and/or in compliance with the Queensland Liquor Licensing Law.
  • Tickets are not refundable if admission is refused.
  • Latecomers may only be admitted at the discretion of the venue and/or promoter if there is a convenient break in the performance.
    • If a ticket holder contacts MoB about being late for a walking or boat tour, the tour guide will wait up to to start the tour, however if the ticket holder is not at the meeting point with 10 minutes of the advertised start time, the tour will commence without them and they will not be eligible for a refund.
  • Tickets may not be on-sold or used for other commercial purposes without the ticketing service provider’s prior written consent.
  • The right is reserved by the organisation responsible for presenting the event to vary ticket prices, advertised programs and to add, withdraw or substitute performers as necessary.
  • Under no circumstances will a presenter, venue or ticketing service provider be required to reimburse a consumer for auxiliary expenses incurred by the consumer in the attendance or non-attendance to an event. Auxiliary expenses include, but are not limited to, the cost of travel, car parking, childcare and accommodation. Consumers are encouraged to obtain sufficient ticket or travel insurance cover for such circumstances.
  • Fees and charges including but not limited to postage charges and exchange fees are non-refundable.
  • Ticket holders enter the venue at their own risk.

 

 

Refund Policy
  • MoB will only offer a refund or exchange of a ticket if an event is cancelled, rescheduled or significantly relocated (and you cannot or do not wish to attend the rescheduled or relocated event), or to the extent otherwise required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law).
  • Ticket holders must request a refund 48 hours before the event commences, unless the ticket holder is unable to attend due to COVID-19 health concerns. Refund requests must be made in writing and sent to bookings@museumofbrisbane.com.au
  • If an event is cancelled, rescheduled or significantly relocated, all liability is limited to the amount for which the ticket was purchased (including any fees or charges). Proof of purchase will be required be required for any refund or exchange. Unless required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), neither Eventbrite nor MoB will be liable for any other losses incurred by you as a result of the cancellation, rescheduling or relocation of an event, including any travel and accommodation expenses.
  • Eventbrite/MoB will only replace lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed tickets if the authenticity of the ticket can be verified, including proof of purchase, and if you give reasonable notice before the event.
  • In most cases, refunds will be automatically processed to the credit card originally used for purchase.
  • MoB only accepts tickets purchased through authorised sellers, which is Eventbrite where Museum of Brisbane is the presenter. Tickets sold through unauthorised sellers (also called a ‘reseller’) will result in the ticket holder being turned away at the venue and not provided a refund from Eventbrite or MoB. All ticket holders must ensure their ticket has been purchased via an authorised provider. Please contact bookings@museumofbrisbane.com.au before purchasing if there are any concerns.
Booking Terms and Conditions
  • Participants must include full name and valid contact information.
  • When booking a ticket for another individual they must include valid contact details and information concerning the event attendee.
  • Museum of Brisbane reserves the right to vary ticket prices, seating arrangements and capacity. Museum of Brisbane reserves the right to add, withdraw, or reschedule programs and presenters.
  • Entry to Museum of Brisbane exhibitions is subject to capacity at the time of arrival.
  • Museum of Brisbane tickets are not to be used for advertising, promotions, contests, sweep-stakes or resale unless authorised by the Museum of Brisbane. Use of the Museum of Brisbane’s trademarks and other intellectual property is subject to Museum of Brisbane’s consent. Museum of Brisbane reserves the right to cancel a ticket if any of these terms and conditions are breached.
  • Inappropriate behaviour and/or harassment will not be tolerated. Museum of Brisbane does not tolerate discrimination of any group or individual and will remove the ticket holder form the venue if inappropriate behaviour is observed.
  • Museum of Brisbane advocates responsible consumption of alcohol. The Museum abides by all legislated requirements regarding the supply, consumption and promotion of liquor.
Children's Events

Children attending a Museum of Brisbane program aged 12 and under must be accompanied by a supervising adult at all times. While attending a program or workshop, the supervising adults must stay within the area of the workshop.

Children over the age of 12 must be accompanied by a supervising adult, unless, the supervising adult has provided suitable contact methods and agreed in writing to the drop off and pick-up of the child at the designated time as outlined by MoB. This information will be collected by a Museum facilitator before the adult has departed.

COVID-19 Specific Conditions of Entry
  • You acknowledge that the event may be scheduled to be held, or will be held, during a time at which one or more Government directions or regulations may be in force regarding the number of persons attending an event (or the holding of the event itself). If that is the case, then the number of persons permitted to be in or around the Venue may be affected, resulting in the Seller (or Eventbrite, on behalf of the Seller) being required to or deciding to:

    • cancel or postpone the event;
    • reduce the number of persons who may attend the event;
    • change your seating allocation; and/or
    • change any standing or seating configurations for attendance at the event;

in which case You may receive a refund in accordance with the MoB Terms and Conditions, or the COVID-19 Refunds and Exchanges Terms and Conditions, as the case may be.

  • You agree to comply with all Government directions, orders and regulations relevant to attending live events, which may be in place at the time of the event.
  • If you are attending the event as part of a group, as the primary ticket purchaser, you are responsible for knowing the contact details of all attendees in your group. In the event you are contacted directly by the Government, including the Department of Health for the purposes of contact tracing, you must: (a) make the contact details of your group available to the Government (if you have the consent of each group member to do so); or (b) contact each member of your group, and request that they provide their contact details to the Government directly.
  • If at the time of the event, either you, or any other members of your group are feeling unwell or are subject to a self-quarantine or self-isolation period, you agree not to attend the event.
