Museum of Brisbane is excited to partner with Brisbane City Council on their Outdoor Gallery exhibition Make Visible this summer.
Make Visible celebrates the intricate, delicate and interconnected layers of the city we love by revealing the often-hidden qualities of Brisbane through community-led content and storytelling. The exhibition makes visible these narratives; our relationships with the climate, each other, and the urban environment as seen through the eyes of dynamic and unlikely collaborators from our community.
“The magic of a city is its people, in its buildings, its art, its vibrant city life, its climate, its plants and its stories. This exhibition celebrates the unique qualities of Brisbane, and our environment and climate are a big factor in that. We are often outside, in nature, engaging with each other and the urban space. It influences our architecture, the clothes we wear, what we eat, how and where we socialise, and the art that we make.” Sarah Winter, Studio Winter
Brisbane City Council’s Outdoor Gallery transforms Brisbane’s laneways, city streets and car parks into imaginative and engaging spaces, comprising light boxes, banners, vitrines, and evening projections. This year marks 10 years of the Outdoor Gallery program.
